July 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 32 new cases of confirmed infections (27 imported cases, 6 in Yunnan province, 5 in Guangdong province, 4 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Fujian province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Hunan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Henan province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Gansu province; 5 indigenous cases, 2 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Guangdong and 1 in Yunnan), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 21 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 619 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.

As of 24:00 on July 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,210 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,632 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 578 confirmed cases (including 16 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,529 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,201 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 692 confirmed cases (including 17 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,074,783 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 9,509 were still under medical observation.

On July 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 17 new asymptomatic cases (13 imported cases; 4 indigenous cases, 2 in Liaoning and 2 in Jiangsu). 17 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 16 imported cases) and 7 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 6 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 24, 437 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 406 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 24, 27,591 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,975 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,696 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 58 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,558 in Taiwan (786 had died and 12,543 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
