July 20: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 65 new cases of confirmed infections (57 imported cases, 41 in Yunnan province, 4 in Guangdong province, 3 in Tianjin municipality, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Hubei province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province; 8 indigenous cases in Yunnan), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 22 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 685 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on July 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 7,067 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,540 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 527 confirmed cases (including 11 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on July 19, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,342 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 87,098 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 608 confirmed cases (including 14 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,070,817 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,726 were still under medical observation.
On July 19, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new asymptomatic cases (17 imported cases; 2 indigenous cases in Guangdong and Yunnan). 18 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on July 19, 448 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 441 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 19, 27,442 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,958 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,686 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 55 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,429 in Taiwan (769 had died and 12,268 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
