July 12: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 27 new cases of confirmed infections (18 imported cases, 4 in Fujian province, 3 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 3 in Guangdong province, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Henan province; 9 indigenous cases in Yunnan), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 669 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on July 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,815 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,400 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 415 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on July 11, the National Health Commission had received reports of 92,066 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,952 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 478 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 1,066,762 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,349 were still under medical observation.
On July 11, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 13 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on July 11, 471 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 465 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on July 11, 27,255 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,951 in Hong Kong (212 had died and 11,655 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 55 in Macao (53 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 15,249 in Taiwan (740 had died and 11,802 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
