Jetour, which spun off parent company Chery Holdings on Thursday, has unveiled its ambition to sell 1 million vehicles globally in five years.

Jetour is already one of the most popular brands in China. Its cumulative sales over the past 34 months totaled 380,000 units.

Deliveries in the first half of the year totaled 76,453 units, up 111 percent from the same period last year, much higher than the industry average growth rate.

Jetour's popularity is based on its focus on travel lovers, partnership with a number of camping destinations as well as hotel chains, and extensive involvement of its fans and users in its offline events.

Statistics show that it has organized 1,500 events since its establishment in 2018 and over 800,000 fans and users were involved.

Bao Siyu, president of Jetour, said the brand will roll out continue to focus on its users as it has always done, and roll out at least one or two models a year to further grow its presence and sales.

He said Chery will pool the group's resources for Jetour's development, and 30 billion yuan has been earmarked for its research and development.

Four SUVs, three crossovers as well as MPVs and pickups have been planned. Another 1,000 dealerships will be built to help explore the international market.

By the year 2026, Jetour sales in overseas markets are expected to reach 300,000 units, said Bao.
