Farizon Auto, a brand of the Geely New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group, launched the Xingzhi NEV light truck in Shangrao, Jiangxi province, on Friday.

The model is the first to be based on Farizon's intelligent platform, Yunjie, which can host pure electric, extended-range and hydrogen vehicles. Thanks to this, the Xingzhi can achieve Level 2 plus driving assistance and is equipped with OTA, a technology that updates software remotely.

The platform is designed to achieve Level 4 autonomous driving in the future, the carmaker said.

Farizon provides four variants of the Xingzhi. Prices range from 184,800-195,800 yuan ($28,600-30,300) for pure electric and hydrogen light trucks.

The pure-electric Xingzhi is equipped with CATL's CTP lithium iron phosphate battery. From 20 percent, it can charge to 100 percent within an hour.

On the day the Xingzhi hit the market, Farizon sold 5,500 units to JD Logistics, Suning and other companies. It also marked the official opening of Geely Commercial Vehicle's Shangrao Digital Intelligent Factory, which aims to help the carmaker to produce intelligently and in an ecofriendly manner.
