June 25: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 6 in Guangdong province, 5 in Sichuan province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Hunan province and 1 in Gansu province), 7 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 30 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,133 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,501 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,109 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 392 confirmed cases (including 9 cases in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 24, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,693 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,571 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 486 confirmed cases (including 14 cases in serious condition) and 9 suspected cases. 1,054,578 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 19,000 were still under medical observation.
On June 24, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 20 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 18 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 24, 463 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 443 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 24, 26,347 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,905 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,621 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 53 in Macao (51 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 14,389 in Taiwan (605 had died and 9,288 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
