June 24: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 8 in Guangdong province, 3 in Sichuan province, 3 in Yunnan province, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Fujian province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai municipality), and no deaths. 38 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 931 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,477 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,096 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 381 confirmed cases (including 9 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 23, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,669 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,541 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 492 confirmed cases (including 15 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,053,735 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 19,292 were still under medical observation.
On June 23, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 18 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 15 imported cases) and 7 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 23, 463 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 443 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 23, 26,211 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,898 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,619 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 53 in Macao (51 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 14,260 in Taiwan (599 had died and 9,041 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
