June 23: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 12 in Sichuan province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Jiangsu province and 1 in Fujian province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 22 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,015 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,461 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,073 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 388 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on June 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,653 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,503 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 514 confirmed cases (including 16 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,051,636 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 18,126 were still under medical observation.
On June 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 21 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 6 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 12 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 22, 468 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 447 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 22, 26,106 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,896 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,618 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 53 in Macao (51 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 14,157 in Taiwan (575 had died and 8,087 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
