A calligraphy scroll by painter Dong Qichang from the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) is on display at the Shanghai Museum, June 21, 2021. The special exhibition An Everlasting Spring: The Art of Painting and Calligraphy in Shanghai was unveiled on Monday at the Shanghai Museum to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC). This is the first time an exhibition was curated from an academic perspective to systematically comb through and study Shanghai calligraphy and painting from past generations. A total of 146 pieces of art, ranging from creations dating from the Three Kingdoms period up to modern times, are on show at the exhibition, which runs from June 21 to Sept 21.[Photo/Xinhua]
