June 19: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 30 new cases of confirmed infections (24 imported cases, 8 in Guangdong province, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Fujian province, 2 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shaanxi province, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Zhejiang province; 6 indigenous cases in Guangdong), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 28 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 827 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 3.
As of 24:00 on June 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,375 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 6,024 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 351 confirmed cases (including 8 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on June 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,564 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,425 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 503 confirmed cases (including 21 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 1,046,793 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 15,695 were still under medical observation.
On June 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 42 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 20 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on June 18, 455 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 434 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 18, 25,708 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,884 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,608 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 53 in Macao (51 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 13,771 in Taiwan (518 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
