June 8: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 33 new cases of confirmed infections (14 imported cases, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province; 19 indigenous cases in Guangdong), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 27 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 756 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on June 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,165 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,874 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 291 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on June 7, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,300 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,255 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 409 confirmed cases (including 10 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,031,331 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,695 were still under medical observation.

On June 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 8 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 7 imported cases) and 12 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 3 imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 7, 372 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 348 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on June 7, 23,407 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,865 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,584 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 51 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 11,491 in Taiwan (286 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
