June 5: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections (13 imported cases, 5 in Guangdong province, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province; 11 indigenous cases in Guangdong), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 10 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 886 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on June 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,114 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,818 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 296 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 4, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,218 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,197 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 385 confirmed cases (including 9 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 1,028,538 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,191 were still under medical observation.
On June 4, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 28 new asymptomatic cases (25 imported cases; 3 indigenous cases in Guangdong). 17 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 14 imported cases) and 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 3 imported cases). As of 24:00 on June 4, 380 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 349 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 4, 22,347 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,850 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,579 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 51 in Macao (49 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 10,446 in Taiwan (187 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
