June 2: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On June 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 24 new cases of confirmed infections (14 imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province; 10 indigenous cases in Guangdong), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 689 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on June 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,077 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,787 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 290 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on June 1, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,146 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,164 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 346 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,026,143 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,183 were still under medical observation.
On June 1, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 19 new asymptomatic cases (12 imported cases; 7 indigenous cases in Guangdong). 26 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 4 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on June 1, 380 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 341 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on June 1, 20,741 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,848 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,575 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 51 in Macao (49 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 8,842 in Taiwan (137 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
