Ningxia’s economy maintained a rapid pace of growth in 2018. Its GDP amounted to 370.52 billion yuan ($53.9 billion), up seven percent over the previous year. Revenue in local governments’ general public budgets totaled 44.45 billion yuan, an increase of 8.2 percent.
Per capita disposable income in the autonomous region’s urban areas increased by 8.2 percent year-on-year to 31,895 yuan, while rural per capita disposable income rose to 11,708 yuan, an increase of 9 percent. And overall per capita disposable income was 22,400 yuan, up 8.9 percent.
In 2018, the added value of primary industry contributed 27.99 billion yuan, an increase of 4 percent year-on-year. The secondary industry rose by 6.8 percent to 165.03 billion yuan and the services sector increased by 7.7 percent to 177.51 billion yuan.
Total volume of imports and exports reached 24.91 billion yuan, of which exports is 16.26 billion yuan and imports is 5.15 billion yuan.
Ningxia Hui autonomous region has jurisdiction over five prefecture-level cities (Yinchuan, Shizuishan, Wuzhong, Guyuan, and Zhongwei) and 22 counties and cities (regions).
