May 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On May 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 11 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Fujian province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Guangdong province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 10 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 609 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on May 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 6,044 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,749 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 295 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on May 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 91,072 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 86,117 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 319 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,024,113 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,841 were still under medical observation.
On May 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 22 new asymptomatic cases (9 imported cases; 13 indigenous cases in Guangdong). 13 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 10 imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on May 29, 412 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 363 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on May 29, 19,694 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,837 in Hong Kong (210 had died and 11,571 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 51 in Macao (49 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 7,806 in Taiwan (99 had died and 1,133 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
