Chinese carmaker SAIC Motor's MG brand launched the MG6 XPOWER vehicle on Friday, as the latest member of its performance division's Master Series.

The XPOWER research and development division was established in 2001. It is expected to become something like Mercedes' AMG or BMW's M among its customers.

The MG6 XPOWER has a very sporty look, with its extra wide grille that features the octagonal MG logo.

Inside the car, the three-spoke steering wheel is covered with the Alcantara material, which offers the driver a nice grip. There are up to 24 dedicated MG logos in the cabin and on the car body.

It features a hybrid system composed of a turbocharged engine and an electric motor. Combined, they can deliver a maximum output of 305 PS and a top torque of 480 Nm.

On the pure electric mode, it can run for up to 70 km.

The model features brake calipers from the United Kingdom designed for race cars, which enable the vehicle to decelerate from 100 km/hour to zero in 33 meters.

The MG6 XPOWER measures 4,722 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width and 1,456 mm in height.

It has a wheelbase of 2,715 mm and a wheel track of 1,585 mm. It measures 1,540 kg in weight.
