Shanghai Museum showcases woven and embroidered art works

27 kesi tapestries and works of embroidery from the Ming and Qing dynasties (1368-1911) as well as eight paintings will be on display at the Shanghai Museum as of May 21. The exhibition presents the techniques of embroidery and kesi -- a consummate technique for weaving pictorial designs on fabrics, a world intangible cultural heritage.
