April 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 11 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 3 in Yunnan province, 2 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Jiangsu province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Shaanxi province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 8 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,017 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on April 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,601 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,336 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 265 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,599 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,652 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 311 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases. 1,005,931 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,810 were still under medical observation.
On April 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 18 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 14 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on April 25, 325 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 314 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 25, 12,885 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,736 in Hong Kong (209 had died and 11,354 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 49 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,100 in Taiwan (12 had died and 1,045 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
