Opened to the public in 2011 and covering 1,800 square meters, the Guangzhou Fang Suo Commune Bookstore is a versatile space that integrates aesthetics, coffee, exhibitions, and clothing and fashion. It mainly offers books on humanities, arts, design, and architecture, about 40,000 of which are from Hong Kong and Taiwan and nearly 10,000 are from foreign countries.

Why it’s special
The Guangzhou Fang Suo Commune Bookstore is equipped with three special bookshelves displaying recommended books from such sources as the media, the internet, and the bookstore’s best sellers. Focusing on art and aesthetics, certain strictly selected commodities, including the iron pot designed by Japanese industrial design master Sori Yanagi and the notebooks of the Italian brand CIAK, are placed in the aesthetic life zone where they are environmentally protected and their durability is ensured.

Forty percent of the Guangzhou Fang Suo Commune Bookstore’s stock is of foreign books, and its classic books and bestsellers are carefully selected.
