Jetour, a brand under Chery Holding, will expand its travel-themed strategy to include health and smartness, as it continues to explore the SUV market.
Li Xueyong, Jetour’s vice-president, made the statement on Monday at the Shanghai auto show.
He said Jetour is partnering with Tsinghua University as well as some companies to develop vehicles that will offer pleasant experiences for the customers.
This will be based on the carmaker’s travel-themed strategy, which has been proven extremely successful.
Li said it took merely 28 months for the brand to sell 300,000 vehicles in the competitive Chinese market. It was the brand that used the least time to hit the milestone.
Jetour has two series of SUV models, namely the 70 series and the 90 series.
It is showcasing such models as the 70, 70 PLUS, 70 PLUS Zhuge, 90 and 90 PLUS SUVs at the ongoing Shanghai auto show. Both gasoline and NEV models are available.
The carmaker said the 90 PLUS will be available in the second half of the year. Among other things, it will feature Chery’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.
Jetour is also showcasing recreational vans at the event, which are designed to offer travel lovers better outdoor experiences
