April 19: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 11 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 4 in Hainan province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Yunnan province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Shaanxi province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 10 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 333 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on April 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,515 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,274 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 241 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,510 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,559 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 315 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 4 suspected cases. 1,002,777 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 10,533 were still under medical observation.
On April 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 11 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 10 imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on April 18, 322 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 307 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 18, 12,805 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,683 in Hong Kong (209 had died and 11,270 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 49 in Macao (48 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,073 in Taiwan (11 had died and 1,033 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
