April 14: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new cases of confirmed infections (11 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Sichuan province; 1 indigenous case in Yunnan province), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 7 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 293 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 2.
As of 24:00 on April 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,454 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,240 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 214 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 13, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,447 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,513 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 298 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 1,000,434 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 10,840 were still under medical observation.
On April 13, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 12 imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on April 13, 293 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 272 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 13, 12,718 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,607 in Hong Kong (208 had died and 11,227 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 49 in Macao (48 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,062 in Taiwan (11 had died and 1,027 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
