April 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On April 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 9 new cases of confirmed infections (8 imported cases, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Fujian province; 1 indigenous case in Yunnan province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 11 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 62 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on April 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 5,443 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 5,237 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 206 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on April 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 90,435 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 85,506 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 293 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 997,604 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,303 were still under medical observation.
On April 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 18 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 4 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on April 12, 299 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 274 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on April 12, 12,701 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 11,594 in Hong Kong (207 had died and 11,214 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 49 in Macao (48 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 1,058 in Taiwan (11 had died and 1,026 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
