In the Warring States Period (475-221 BC), Zhongshan was one of the twelve powerful states that possessed more than 1,000 chariots. Established by the Xianyu tribe of Baidi people, one of the ethnic minorities of northern China, the Zhongshan State had fallen into oblivion for more than 2,000 years until the 1970s when archeologists finally explored it.

This virtual tour enables you to appreciate the style of this ancient state with themes ranging from history, national capital, economy and culture to warfare and royal tomb rituals. Additionally, there are also various royal treasures encompassing bronze ware, pottery, jade stone and ornamentations, demonstrating the magnificent artistic achievements. They reveal the riveting history of the Warring States Period in which fiefs tactically vied for power and dominance.
