The imperial palaces of the Ming and Qing dynasties are the two best preserved pre-modern wooden architectural complexes in China. One is in Shenyang, and the other, the Forbidden City, is located in Beijing. A virtual exhibition of national treasures held by the Shenyang Palace Museum is now available online to showcase the dignified, luxurious and graceful style of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) imperial family and the splendid and glorious traditional Chinese culture.
The exhibits include 90 grade-one cultural relics of the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) such as weapons used by the emperors, imperial costumes, enamelware, porcelain, calligraphy and paintings, to name just a few. As you wonder through the gallery, feel free to click the twinkling signs beside the exhibits to get detailed information and view zoomable images.
