As a Jetta VS7 crossover SUV rolled off the production line on Tuesday, FAW-Volkswagen's plant in Southwest China's Sichuan province reached a milestone of 5 million vehicles.
"The 5-millionth vehicle off the production line has set a new milestone for the development of the Chengdu branch," said Pan Zhanfu, general manager of FAW-Volkswagen joint venture.
"With the establishment of the Jetta brand (two years ago) and its settlement in the Chengdu branch, the brand is blazing a new trail to unique development and innovation."
Since its birth, Jetta has built up advanced manufacturing technology and laid a foundation of high product quality.
Its models, such as the VS7 and VS5 compact crossover SUV, are manufactured on Volkswagen's MQB platform and equipped with an 1.4-liter turbocharged engine and a six-speed gearbox.
Having entered the Chinese market 30 years ago, the Jetta brand has attracted 4.6 million users in the country.
Using its brand-new design language, advanced technology and compelling models, Jetta is committed to maintaining consumer confidence and cohesion.
