In the Cherry Vale of Beijing Botanical Garden, there are more than 180 dawn redwood trees. In the autumn, their golden dazzling leaves exude their charms in bright sunshine, drawing many local residents to enjoy the sight while wandering along a rustic plank road.
Beijing Botanical Garden, a beloved destination of local people, collected dawn redwood seeds from Lichuan city, Central China’s Hubei province in 1972. After decades of careful cultivation, it has become the best growing dawn redwood grove in northern China. Its tallest tree is more than 29 meters! The grove is also an example of the Beijing Botanical Garden's skills in seed introduction.
