Taking boxing classes, going to the university library, attending online Chinese courses, William Morgan had a hectic schedule during the Spring Festival holiday.

Morgan is a postgraduate student from the University of Nottingham Ningbo China. Although he arrived in the city four years ago, this was the first time he decided to stay and celebrate the holiday in China.

"I know about the custom of giving out hongbao during the Spring Festival, with cash inside," Morgan said as he selected hongbaos of his favorite design at a supermarket in Ningbo, Zhejiang province.

Morgan also pasted a pair of Spring Festival scrolls and the Chinese character fu, meaning good fortune, on the door of his dormitory, making it festive.

Morgan has not been able to go back to his home in the United Kingdom for over a year because of COVID-19.

"It is a fairly long time, not able to go back home. I hope my family will stay healthy and the epidemic will end soon," Morgan said.

"After the Spring Festival holiday, I plan to go to Yangshuo, a small county in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, to visit an old friend."
