Feb 7: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 11 new cases of confirmed infections (10 imported cases, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Beijing municipality, 2 in Jiangsu province, 2 in Guangdong province and 1 in Hunan province; 1 indigenous case in Jilin province), 2 new cases of suspected infections (both were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 70 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,596 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.
As of 24:00 on Feb 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,790 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,507 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 283 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Feb 6, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,692 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 83,880 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,176 confirmed cases (including 25 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 970,667 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 30,212 were still under medical observation.
On Feb 6, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 13 new asymptomatic cases (including 11 imported cases). 62 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 9 imported cases) and 2 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 1 imported case). As of 24:00 on Feb 6, 682 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 284 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Feb 6, 11,580 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,608 in Hong Kong (186 had died and 9,828 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 48 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 924 in Taiwan (9 had died and 843 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
