Feb 4: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Feb 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 30 new cases of confirmed infections (13 imported cases, 5 in Beijing municipality, 3 in Fujian province, 3 in Guangdong province and 2 in Shanghai municipality; 17 indigenous cases, 8 in Jilin province, 4 in Heilongjiang province, 3 in Shanghai and 2 in Hebei province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai), and no deaths. 135 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 2,816 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 17.

As of 24:00 on Feb 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,758 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,454 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 304 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.

As of 24:00 on Feb 3, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,649 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 83,602 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,411 confirmed cases (including 49 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 968,773 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 34,184 were still under medical observation.

On Feb 3, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new asymptomatic cases (including 11 imported cases). 47 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 13 imported cases) and 6 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (all were indigenous cases). As of 24:00 on Feb 3, 788 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 277 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Feb 3, 11,494 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,530 in Hong Kong (185 had died and 9,633 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 47 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 917 in Taiwan (8 had died and 834 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
