Jan 30: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Jan 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 52 new cases of confirmed infections (16 imported cases, 9 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Fujian province, 2 in Hunan province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 36 indigenous cases, 27 in Heilongjiang province, 5 in Jilin province, 2 in Shanghai, 1 in Beijing municipality and 1 in Hebei province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an indigenous case in Jilin), and no deaths. 143 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,374 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 21.
As of 24:00 on Jan 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 4,689 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 4,385 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 304 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Jan 29, the National Health Commission had received reports of 89,430 confirmed cases and 4,636 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 83,083 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 1,711 confirmed cases (including 78 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 964,954 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 39,218 were still under medical observation.
On Jan 29, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new asymptomatic cases (including 8 imported cases). 30 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 3 imported cases) and 7 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Jan 29, 976 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (increased by 1 after verification), including 297 imported cases (increased by 1 after verification).
As of 24:00 on Jan 29, 11,317 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 10,371 in Hong Kong (178 had died and 9,302 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 47 in Macao (46 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 899 in Taiwan (7 had died and 813 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
