SAIC Maxus will expects to sell 226,000 vehicles in 2021, after it sales soared 17.16 percent to 147,209 in 2020, said its president Wang Rui on Tuesday.
Speaking at the annual sales and service event, Wang said the company would like to challenge itself by an even higher goal of 250,000 in the year if it can meet the lower target.
The 10-year old carmaker said it will continue to enrich its portfolio by launching all-new pickup trucks and MPVs based on its intelligent smart architecture.
It will also consolidate its position in light buses and other segments by offering personalized choices.
As one of the youngest carmakers in China, SAIC Maxus has been known among customers by allowing them to customize their vehicles online.
At the same event, SAIC Maxus launched its new T70 pickup. Available in eight variants, the model is priced from 99,800 yuan to 139,800 yuan.
SAIC Maxus' pickup trucks are sold in 48 countries and regions, with their overseas sales totaling 12,383 in 2020.
In Australia, the carmaker has been the best-selling Chinese pickup brand for three years in a row. In Chile, it beat such established carmakers as Great Wall Motors and Foton in terms of accumulated sales.
