Voyah, the high-end brand of Chinese State-owned carmaker Dongfeng Motor held the world premiere of its first mass-produced model, the Free, on Friday in Shenzhen, Guangdong province. The carmaker will offer two variants of the large electric SUV -- an extended range variant that can go a distance of up to 860 kilometers on one charge, and a pure electric variant.
The extended-range variant is equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and electric generator with maximum power of 80 kW, which combines high performance and low fuel consumption.
According to the carmaker, the electric SUV has a maximum output of 500 kW and a top torque of 1,000 Nm. It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
The model has four intelligent cockpit modes and is equipped with an intelligent driving assistance system. According to the carmaker, the SUV's price will be less than 400,000 yuan ($61,000) and it is expected to be delivered to customers in the third quarter of next year.
