The 2021 Xuanyuan Award ceremony was held on Nov 13 in Beijing, with the Hongqi H9 and the Xpeng P7 named cars of the year.
The jury, composed of designers, engineers and reporters, gave their judges and 25 models from the entries made into the final round.
Of them, the Hongqi H9 and the Xpeng P7 were named cars of the year and 10 models including the Nio EC6 and the Hongguang Mini EV won the accolade of the top 10 best cars.
The award, organized by the Auto Business Review magazine, has been in its 8th years. There were 75 entries, all of which hit the market between December 2019 and November 2020.
They were judged in a number of aspects ranging from autonomous driving functions to voice recognition, and from their driving experiences to electric vehicles' energy efficiency.
All the tests were done at the National Automobile Quality Supervision and Test Center (Xiangyang) in Hubei province.
