Dec 11: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Dec 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new cases of confirmed infections (9 imported cases, 5 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province and 1 in Yunnan province; 6 indigenous cases, 4 in Sichuan province and 2 in Heilongjiang province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 8 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 218 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Dec 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,989 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,743 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 246 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Dec 10, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,688 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,762 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 292 confirmed cases (including 5 cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases. 885,676 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,708 were still under medical observation.
On Dec 10, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 7 new asymptomatic cases (including 6 imported cases). 6 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Dec 10, 200 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 191 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Dec 10, 8,061 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 7,291 in Hong Kong (114 had died and 5,900 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 724 in Taiwan (7 had died and 590 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
