Lynk & Co launches first model in Europe

Lynk & Co, the joint venture between Geely and Volvo, launched its new 01 SUV in Ningbo, Zhejiang province and in seven European countries on Tuesday.
The launch and presales are the first for Lynk & Co to take place in both China and Europe at the same time.
The carmaker offers five variants of the new 01, including a plug-in hybrid and presales are available in Belgium, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden.
Equipped with Volvo's Drive-E 2.0TD T5 turbocharged engine, the 01 has a maximum output of 187 kilowatts, top torque of 350 Newton meters and can accelerate from 0-100 kilometers per hour in 6.7 seconds.
The SUV has a class-leading 2,734-millimeter wheelbase and is 4,549 mm in length. Suggested prices range from 179,800 yuan to 222,700 yuan ($27,401 to $33,939).
Lynk & Co has sold 180,000 01 SUVs since it hit the market three years ago.
The new model was developed based on feedback from users, according to the carmaker.
Lynk & Co opened its first overseas showroom in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in October and plans open another in Gothenburg, Sweden soon, according to the carmaker.
