The list covers sections that were erected during the Qin Dynasty (221-206 BC), the Han Dynasty (206 BC- 220) and the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). They are closely related to historical events, including the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression (1931-45), and include major bastions and beacon towers. The list enrolled a total of 83 ruins.
