Nov 23: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 11 new cases of confirmed infections (9 imported cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 2 indigenous cases in Shanghai), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 12 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 731 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on Nov 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,784 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,486 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 298 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Nov 22, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,442 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,493 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 315 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 876,725 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 11,231 were still under medical observation.
On Nov 22, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 17 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 1 (imported case) became a confirmed case. As of 24:00 on Nov 22, 357 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 353 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Nov 22, 6,291 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,628 in Hong Kong (108 had died and 5,259 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 617 in Taiwan (7 had died and 548 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
