China’s largest SUV maker Great Wall Motors unveiled its latest powertrain products on Thursday, which are to sharpen the competitive edge of its gasoline and electrified models.
Of the products is the world’s first traverse 9-speed wet dual clutch transmission
Compared with its 7-speed predecessor, the clutch is 10 percent lighter but 3.5 percent more efficient and 7 percent lower in terms of fuel consumption, said the carmaker.
It works perfectly with the engine, 4N20, which was released on the same day.
The engine has a heat efficiency of 38.3 percent and generates a top output of 180 kW and a maximum torque of 385 newton meters.
The engine works even more economically with the 9-speed hybrid dual clutch transmission, cutting fuel consumption by 70 percent compared with the 7-speed transmission.
Great Wall Motors’ three-in-one electric drive system marks the carmaker’s latest development in its e-mobility campaign.
The system, which produces an output from 35 kW to 200 kW, can be used in electrified vehicles of different sizes.
