Nov 19: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 12 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 3 in Sichuan province, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Guangdong province and 1 in Chongqing municipality), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 22 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 1,038 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 2.

As of 24:00 on Nov 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,735 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,430 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 305 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 18, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,381 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,433 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 314 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and no suspected cases. 874,707 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 13,176 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 18, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 10 new asymptomatic cases (including 9 imported cases). 44 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 14 imported cases) and 4 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Nov 18, 419 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 379 imported cases). (Note: The number of asymptomatic cases under medical observation on Nov 17 increased by 1 after verification.)

As of 24:00 on Nov 18, 6,132 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,479 in Hong Kong (108 had died and 5,224 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 607 in Taiwan (7 had died and 541 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
