Nov 8: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 28 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 9 in Shaanxi province, 7 in Shanghai municipality, 4 in Hubei province, 2 in Zhejiang province, 2 in Guangdong province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Shanxi province and 1 in Fujian province), 4 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 37 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 924 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases decreased by 1.
As of 24:00 on Nov 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,571 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,224 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 347 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Nov 7, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,212 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,168 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 410 confirmed cases (including 7 cases in serious condition) and 6 suspected cases. 869,056 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 16,618 were still under medical observation.
On Nov 7, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 36 new asymptomatic cases (including 34 imported cases). 32 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 18 imported cases) and 3 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Nov 7, 824 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 508 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Nov 7, 5,983 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,364 in Hong Kong (107 had died and 5,139 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 573 in Taiwan (7 had died and 523 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
