Nov 6: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Nov 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 36 new cases of confirmed infections (30 imported cases, 15 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Guangdong province, 2 in Tianjin municipality, 2 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 2 in Fujian province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Shanxi province, 1 in Liaoning province, 1 in Zhejiang province and 1 in Yunnan province; 6 indigenous cases, all in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region), 23 new cases of suspected infections (all were imported cases in Shanghai), and no deaths. 17 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 628 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,510 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,171 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 339 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 26 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, the National Health Commission had received reports of 86,151 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 81,098 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 419 confirmed cases (including 9 cases in serious condition) and 26 suspected cases. 866,919 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 16,476 were still under medical observation.

On Nov 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 33 new asymptomatic cases (including 18 imported cases). 16 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (including 7 imported cases) and 10 asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases (including 4 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 832 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 492 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on Nov 5, 5,970 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,355 in Hong Kong (107 had died and 5,126 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 569 in Taiwan (7 had died and 523 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
