Oct 27: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 16 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 3 in Shaanxi province, 2 in Hebei province, 2 in Sichuan province, 1 in Beijing municipality, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Heilongjiang province, 1 in Fujian province, 1 in Shandong province and 1 in Guangdong province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 17 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 243 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Oct 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,264 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 3,009 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 255 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Oct 26, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,826 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,928 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 264 confirmed cases (including 4 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 852,998 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 9,485 were still under medical observation.
On Oct 26, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 50 new asymptomatic cases (including 24 imported cases). 17 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Oct 26, 570 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 405 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Oct 26, 5,899 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,303 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 5,050 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 550 in Taiwan (7 had died and 502 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
