Oct 13: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Oct 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 13 new cases of confirmed infections (7 imported cases, 3 in Shanghai municipality, 2 in Guangdong province, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region and 1 in Sichuan province; 6 indigenous cases in Shandong province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 15 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 382 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. Serious cases increased by 1.
As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 3,036 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,814 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 222 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Oct 12, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,591 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,729 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 228 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases. 841,890 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 8,291 were still under medical observation.
On Oct 12, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 17 new asymptomatic cases (including 12 imported cases). 22 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 4 became confirmed cases (including 2 imported cases). As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 386 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 378 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Oct 12, 5,768 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,193 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 4,921 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 529 in Taiwan (7 had died and 489 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
