Sept 26: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 9 in Sichuan province, 3 in Guangdong province, 1 in Tianjin municipality, 1 in Fujian province and 1 in Shaanxi province), 1 new case of suspected infections (an imported case in Shanghai municipality), and no deaths. 14 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 608 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Sept 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,788 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,621 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 167 confirmed cases (including 3 in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Sept 25, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,337 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,536 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 167 confirmed cases (including 3 cases in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 830,088 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 7,085 were still under medical observation.
On Sept 25, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 30 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 28 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 25, 400 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 398 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Sept 25, 5,614 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 5,058 in Hong Kong (105 had died and 4,765 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 510 in Taiwan (7 had died and 480 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
