Sept 15: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 8 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 4 in Guangdong province, 1 in Shanghai municipality, 1 in Zhejiang province, 1 in Sichuan province and 1 in Yunnan province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 11 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 471 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,653 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,511 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 142 confirmed cases (including 1 in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases.
As of 24:00 on Sept 14, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,202 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,426 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 142 confirmed cases (including 1 case in serious condition) and 2 suspected cases. 823,459 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,513 were still under medical observation.
On Sept 14, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 9 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 24 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and 2 (imported cases) became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 361 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 360 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Sept 14, 5,516 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 4,971 in Hong Kong (101 had died and 4,635 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 499 in Taiwan (7 had died and 476 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
