Sept 10: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On Sept 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 7 new cases of confirmed infections (all were imported cases, 6 in Shanghai municipality and 1 in Guangdong province), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 11 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 412 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.
As of 24:00 on Sept 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 2,604 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 2,443 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 161 confirmed cases (including 2 in serious condition) and 1 suspected case.
As of 24:00 on Sept 9, the National Health Commission had received reports of 85,153 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 80,358 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 161 confirmed cases (including 2 cases in serious condition) and 1 suspected case. 820,761 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 6,558 were still under medical observation.
On Sept 9, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 15 new asymptomatic cases (all were imported cases). 22 asymptomatic cases were freed from medical observation (all were imported cases) and no asymptomatic cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on Sept 9, 301 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 299 imported cases).
As of 24:00 on Sept 9, 5,442 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 4,901 in Hong Kong (99 had died and 4,557 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (all had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 495 in Taiwan (7 had died and 475 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
