Promoted by All-China Women's Federation(ACWF) in 2009, the initiative of "Free Screening of Breast Cancer and Cervical Cancer" has become one of the major public health and service programs in China to improve women's health. Women's federations work closely with the health departments and jointly promote the implementation of the program. By the end of 2018, more than 80 million rural women had received free screening of cervical cancer and more than 15 million rural women had received free screening of breast cancer. In addition, ACWF has set up a special fund of treatment to help impoverished women diagnosed with breast cancer or cervical cancer. 132.200 women have received financial assistance for medical treatment.
