China and Singapore are willing to work together to keep the global supply chain running and trade flowing smoothly amid the disruptions of the global economy from the COVID-19 outbreak, said officials from the two countries.

Deputy head of the National Development and Reform Commission Ning Jizhe and Singapore's Minister for Trade and Industry Chan Chun Sing agreed over a video conference call held on Tuesday to continue their support for globalization and the global supply chain, calling for enhanced international cooperation against the coronavirus crisis.

Both sides affirmed that China enjoys strong economic relations with Singapore, including the Belt and Road Initiative, China-Singapore Suzhou Industrial Park, China-Singapore Tianjin Eco-city, and the China-Singapore (Chongqing) Demonstration Initiative on Strategic Connectivity.

The two countries are committed to continue cooperation in the digital economy field, saying they will continuously pay attention to the Singapore-China (Shenzhen) Smart City Initiative and work together to build the smart city project.
