July 6: Daily briefing on novel coronavirus cases in China

On July 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 4 new cases of confirmed infections (3 imported cases, 1 in Inner Mongolia autonomous region, 1 in Liaoning province and 1 in Shaanxi province; 1 indigenous case in Beijing municipality), no new cases of suspected infections, and no deaths. 2 patients were released from hospital after being cured. 455 people who had had close contact with infected patients were freed from medical observation. The number of serious cases remained unchanged.

As of 24:00 on July 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland had reported 1,934 cases of imported confirmed infections and no deaths. In all, 1,865 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 69 confirmed cases (no cases in serious condition) and 3 suspected cases.

As of 24:00 on July 5, the National Health Commission had received reports of 83,557 confirmed cases and 4,634 deaths in 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland, and in all 78,518 patients had been cured and discharged from hospital. There still remained 405 confirmed cases (including 6 cases in serious condition) and 7 suspected cases. 763,801 people had been identified as having had close contact with infected patients. 3,988 were still under medical observation.

On July 5, 31 provincial-level regions and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps on the Chinese mainland reported 11 new asymptomatic cases (including 10 imported cases). 1 asymptomatic case (imported case) was freed from medical observation and no cases became confirmed cases. As of 24:00 on July 5, 109 asymptomatic cases were still under medical observation (including 72 imported cases).

As of 24:00 on July 5, 1,763 confirmed infections had been reported in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and Taiwan province: 1,268 in Hong Kong (7 had died and 1,156 had been cured and discharged from hospital), 46 in Macao (45 had been cured and discharged from hospital) and 449 in Taiwan (7 had died and 438 had been cured and discharged from hospital).
